I'm starting the interview process at Dropbox. It's been going great so far and I really like what I'm seeing and hearing. However, with last year's article on cost cutting measures, the recent reorg, and increased competition, does anyone have any insight on the health of the company?
Did you ask these questions when you decided to join Fitbit?
OP is getting better.
I should have ;)
We just announced hitting $1B revenue run rate and free cashflow positive

Getting crushed by google and Amazon

Exactly my fears
Depends on which team but tread lightly. I used to work there
Why did you leave?
Product Design
Great momentum internally (leadership upgrades) and externally (see recent press)
Looks like their finally cash flow positive which is great, I hope they IPO soon.
Every company has idiosyncrasies, but Dropbox hands down has best corporate culture of any company I've been at. We're cash flow positive and have $1B in recurring revenue. The cut backs were minor ("oh no, we only get lobster once a month instead of weekly!"), benefits are ahead of most companies, and few have had complaints about comp.
In terms of the business, we've made it pretty clear we're not going to be dependent on file syncing (which is quickly getting commoditized) for our future revenue growth. We're heavily investing in the collaboration space, which has significant upsides.
isn't that commoditized too? How much of a footprint does that have in revenue?
Can you elaborate a little on collaboration space? What, like Paper?
