Dropbox is laying off 315 people. Fire away
Are engineers affected?
Not that I know of
Ok hr
Dang...look at their pulse survey scores
Where do you find this?
Blind opened new feature called Pulse. On the very top of blind app next to your company channel
They first went full remote .. then the fire 11% of company .. I guess full remote didn't work out?
I don't think this is a measurable factor considering all major companies are full remote for the time being still pretty much. Dropbox is a dying product. They aren't innovating and right now they don't offer anything noteworthy that competitors don't do better so this isn't really surprising.
They’re firing the highly paid people in infra, cleaning out all the “legacy” employees that keep the sync services running reliably. I’d be afraid to keep my files in Dropbox
We're hiring for everything if anyone at dropbox is interested in working at a remote startup.
I am interested. Can we chat?
DMs are open
When did this happen? Been thinking of joining soon.
Drew sent out the email today, mostly marketing and operations folks will be impacted
Thx for the info. But I thought the company was doing well? At least from the financial report.....
The emailed memo: https://dropbox.gcs-web.com/node/8916/html
Actually the severance + paid bonuses + job services + keeping company property is not a horrible deal at all. Best wishes to all impacted
DM me for referrals on the Alexa Devices team. Positions available for L5 and L6 SDEs, L6 SDMs and TPMs.

How much of engineering is affected?
