Hello, I should have a phone screening coming up soon for AWS Athena team for senior software development engineer position. The recruiter insisted that I will have a "design problem that I will come up with a solution for and try to fit the solution into the system and focus on high availability, etc. And there could be a piece of code." I asked if I should expect algorithms and data structures questions, and he said no, a couple of times. So, any idea what to expect? He explained over 3 times but I couldn't really get it. What kind of a design problem I should expect? He said the problem could be related to processing data and high availability since it's a database service, and later he said it can be not related to the work the team does, it could be a game or something else. He got me more confused because the previous recruiter (for the same position) said there will be a system design question and a leetcode type of question. Any idea what to expect, folks? Thanks TC: what's equivalent to $60k, not in the US of course YOE: 6+ #engineering #software #swe
Would be surprised if there isn’t lc
There will be some coding don’t let it catch you with your pants down. You will chart out a solution to the problem and will need to code some rounds.
I'd assume a system design question and forget all the recruiters said.
Yeah. Unfortunately it matters when preparing because I actually been doing LC lately which means I will switch to design and reviewing/studying in a different direction. Don't like susprises in interviews.
