My spouse is getting transferred to Seattle for work and so we’re planning to move the family in early fall. I can work remotely for my current employer for a short while but ideally I’d like to have a new job lined up by the time I get to Seattle. I work in inventory planning. Any e-commerce companies that you’d recommend in the Seattle area? I’m looking into established companies and startups too. Amazon is an option but I’d like to know what else is out there.
Zulily but it can be caddy as hell as my gf says
why?
Coupang. Nordstrom. Zulily. LuluLemon.
What's it like at Coupang? Are you in the US office?
Not good. Hierarchical culture and hardly any growth.
Let me know can refer
Depends on the department at zulily but I’d definitely recommend taking a look. You could also look at Nordstrom, Starbucks, or REI (near by)
Microsoft has demand planning jobs for devices and a variety of other businesses. Tommy Bahama, Nordstrom, REI, Nintendo I think are other places in Seattle. For Amazon you want to look at Instock Manager jobs or Product Manager jobs. I don’t really recommend Vendor Manager because it’s essentially automated at this point. It’s good if you want to manage portfolios for strategic companies and you like account management. Bad if you want to make decisions.
Stay away from Nordstrom
Why?
Please let us know why you want to stay away ?
Amazon
Don’t come to Amazon, you’ll regret.
Can refer you though...
I love Amazon and don’t regret working here at all. It’s such a huge company that no opinion really matters anymore... your experience is almost entirely dependent on your manager and team dynamic.
REI is moving out of the hellhole that is Kent and into Bellevue next June. A good amount of IT jobs are already in a satellite office in Bellevue. Check the others that people have mentioned. Sur la table is also local but don't know the environment there
