E3 offer for Facebook LA

Would appreciate some help evaluating an offer I recently received. Here's the breakdown 3.5 YOE E3 (they say I'd be on track for e4 in 6 months) 137k base / 20k sign on / 180k rsu This is pre negotiation I'd be relocating from Pittsburgh where I currently make 113k salary Supposedly the LA office is compensated similarly to mpk for a slightly lower COL area. How should I negotiate this and what should I expect?

Not bad, they give new grad kids 100k sign on and 220k rsu tho

Ask for 75k minimum sign on. This is the norm for a good interview performance. 180k RSU in this market is below avg. With experience you should ask for at least 220k. Start negotiating base, stock and then sign on in that order. Also most important, never reveal how much you make or how much stocks you have. Good luck

You should take it. FB has good refresh and fast promo. Out of curiosity though, you were interviewed for E3 or E4? Did they give any reason for downlevel?

Google yagami Feb 24, 2020

Like others said, do try to negotiate though

Was interviewed for e4, down leveled because I was shaky on my Android ui components. My current position involves Android, but on devices without screens, so we don't touch those compunents much. In hindsight I should have studied up on those a bit more.

Did you specifically look for LA positions?

Bosch cliffyb Feb 24, 2020

No, the interview team wasn't confident I'd be able to join any (Android) team, so they found a specific one that wanted me. It happened to be based out of LA

Do you know if there are more openings in LA?

Bosch bean-dip Apr 11, 2020

As far as I know they are growing AR and Android devs. Not sure what else.

Awesome, thanks. I’m planning to apply soon. Did you end up accepting?
