RBC development plan

Asking for a friend, who has been assigned a few development items at RBC. Is there anyone who has a positive experience about it? Or should he start looking for an exit and opportunity elsewhere? Also the manager is pretty toxic always belittling and de-meaning him. What should be the approach here ,Want to know if the HR really takes some action or should he just have his peace and leave

Which business group/platform is your friend in? Usually development items are just Personal goals, which will take into consideration in year end review, nothing too serious (not too sure tho)

Context is important. Dev goals could be good or bad. It sounds like your friend is on some sort of a pip. It’s a chance for the employee to improve on some of their short comings but if the manager wants your friend out, this is the first step. If the manager is as toxic as you say then it’s probably not a good fit for your friend in which case they should start looking imo
