--- Hey Blind community, Just wrapped up my interview loop with Meta for an E6 Software Engineer role focused on infrastructure and could really use some perspective. The day was a mix: 2 coding, 2 system design, and 1 behavioral. - **Coding:** Both were LeetCode hard. Absolutely aced one, but only felt ok about the second. It's bugging me because I know I could have done better. - **System Design:** These were about foundational Facebook features. Ended up being a lot of back-and-forth discussion, which meant I didn't fully complete the system diagrams. Felt like I got my points across but the lack of a finished diagram is nagging at me. - **Behavioral:** This went pretty well, all about core values. Felt like I managed to align my experiences with what they're looking for. Walking away, I can't shake the feeling that I screwed up somewhere, especially with the system design parts. The discussions felt productive but also kind of endless, and now I'm second-guessing whether I demonstrated enough to satisfy them. Coding was a mixed bag - smashing one problem and feeling meh about the other isn't how I wanted it to go. Anyone been in a similar boat? How much does nailing the system design vs. coding weigh in their decision? Given the parts I'm iffy about, should I be prepping for a rejection, or is there hope? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you've gone through Meta's loop or something similar. How did you feel afterward, and how did it turn out? I’m sorry but this sounds like a no-hire to me.
Thanks, I have no hopes either.
Lc hards again. Sigh
Had you seen the one LC question before?
Yes and no, yes the question is seen but with extra constraints
Yoe?
Please update us when you hear a decision
The LC hard ones are from leet code but with extra constraints.
Coding is binary. Communication as important as solving the problem. Get you to E4 System design should be strong again with clear communication. Should have significant insight into scaling and reliability. Gets you E5 Behavioral should show battle scars and wisdom in dealing with people. Gets you E4, E5 or E6 I think for you good on behavioral but border line on technical
Do you see chances ?
Yes I think you’ll be offered E6
Will get E5
Good luck! Keep us updated
Reject or down level
Thanks. I don’t have any hopes but let’s see
