Was it a mistake to buy this Tesla?
Currently in McLean C1 as “Distinguished Engineer”
who would want to double their income? why is this even a question? obviously stay at C1
It's not double after you account for cost of living differences especially with a mortgage and childcare between small town Virginia and heart of Bay Area, CA. The quality of life will dip too, bet McLean doesn't have the same traffic or broken infrastructure as the peninsula.
Have you been on the beltway @Google. DMV sucks
Congratulations on bagging this! Super happy for you I won’t ask about the interview process but I’ll ask about your current scope at C1 and the yoe. Which team would you be leading at Meta?
Be ready to grind. Also don't burn bridges at capital one as you may want to go back. e7 is hell at Meta. I personally know someone who left within two years and he was a principal engineer at f100 company.
so he made 1.5m+ and gtfo good for them
What kind of work is an e7 doing?
Lower ic7 offer. Negotiate for 1m TC
Wait how are you making that at C1?
He’s a DE. They get fat bonuses + RSU and 290+ base.
Is DE as big as VP?

You can look for datapoints for E7 offers on Blind. A reasonable offer would be around 1.1m TC.
Depends if you want to move or not
Equity grant is e5 numbers. Are you sure you’re e7 ? lol
E5 gets $500k equity per year? lol
If it’s per year then it’s good ! I thought it was for while 4 yr vesting period
Looks like a good offer, re Meta.
