Want to share my experience on getting an offer and not joining Zume sometime back. May be it will help people evaluating idea of joining a startup. - There were couple of ‘leaders’ in my panel. Except one, I wasn’t impressed with any of them in terms of vision, people management, techical depth or anything which you would like to see in leadership. With few, impression was actually completely reverse. That was a huge red signal. - I wasn’t impressed with CEO and product vision as such. I didn’t understand how this is a breakthrough product or even their future plans for reducing waste. Great goal, but didn’t see how they were planning to achieve that. - Low offer even with paper money. It indicated how hard it would be to hire good talent in valley. I’m not surprised with Zume’s current state. Signals were all there since the beginning.
Nice analysis. I once rejected a startup due to their low bar hiring process.
