Capital one offer
Recently had a power day at capital one for senior software engineer (full remote). It was a very pleasant experience and overall not that difficult. Leetcode was almost not necessary (I've done ~150 mediums). 1. Behavioral. 2. Coding section. You're given code and you have to figure out how all these classes tie together. Tests your reading comprehension as you need to read comments and determine inputs/outputs of multiple functions. It's not an algorithm question, but if you can do mediums you're fine. 3. System design. Design banking app. 4. Case. Interviewer rapid fired off questions based on the scenario given. Tests math, logic, reasoning, and code debugging. You just need to be decent with numbers and have a calculator ready. Prepare answers to behavioral beforehand. Practice system design (go watch Indians on youtube). Read glassdoor interview experience. Anyone can comment on which team is good for matching? I think my recruiter scheduled me a call with the auto loans team. ~7 year experience TC: 195 base + 30 sign on, location SF edit: codesignal 3 questions answered (strategy was to answer 1, 2, 4. skipped 3 as it was going to take too long) edit2: I believed I targeted principal associate (why do they do this naming??) #capitalone #c1

Following update on TC. Hopefully above 220k?
PA (principal associate) which maps to senior engineer will not be $220k plus. You need to get to Lead (next level up) to get near that. Sr Lead or above to get over $220k

I got 705 and got rejected for a senior role
With 6 years of experience,you should at least target principal SE at CapOne. They have Associate SE, SE, Senior SE, Principal SE, master SE, lead SE and Distinguished SE. Senior at CapOne is not really a senior tbh
Master Engineer title has been deprecated. It's principal to lead to sr lead to DE for the more senior roles
Any idea on how's the difficulty level for Lead SWE role?

Glassdoor and leetcodeās discuss section have almost all the signals youāll need for your interview. The bar has shot through the roof due to all the highly talented laid off people going for the same job. So bring your A game. You might be needled in the behavior round as I was. Also, all positive/āeasyā interviewing experiences have survivor biases in them. You never hear about the hundreds of folks who got rejected who worked just as hard as the OP.

@jchillin after how many team matching rounds do they see you as a reject? I just did my second and Iām nervous bc I thought my first match went well. EDIT: I was being anxious af. Got a match and should start in Feb!

Yes I did. I was initially offered 180 + 20 base and told them I had an offer elsewhere. They bumped it to the max bc of my location in the bay area and my interview performance.
