EA and Blizzard employees on Blind -- what's it like where you work? Have you ever worked in a smaller gaming company or tech company ? How does it compare there?
I worked at a smaller indie company with a lot of people super full of themselves. People did things stupid ways (mismanagement of funds, talent, time) and everyone was treated like they needed to be leashed. Blizzard ( my team, anyway, and they are really different) has been good about praising initiative and I am actually surrounded by really brilliant people, about 80% of which are not full of themselves. They are very helpful people. The pay here is very low for what they ask of you, the stress is high, and we've taken a beating in the public eye lately which is always really harsh for morale. It's especially obnoxious considering your average employee has nothing to do with what the public is mad about. The insurance is good, I like the location, and I like the people I work with.
I echo a lot of this. Honestly If it weren’t for the very low TC, it would be everything I dreamed of as a kid wanting to make video games. Sadly the TC blows in a VERY expensive (but awesome imo) location. I just wish I could afford to live there. Lol
one of my coworkers came to G from blizzard. Said blizzard tc makes our interns look rich in comparison.

Significantly Lower pay and higher stress.
