Well, it would be like flashing lawyer money down the toilet. Don’t really know if they do, but would be plain stupid.
Did you read the requirements for an EB1? If the PhD was sufficient green cards would be a dime a dozen. Without it, I don't see how (unless your merits are not technical)
This. ^^ congress needs to scrap the current immigration law as is and start a do over because every other entitled tom dick and Harry with a tech degree thinks they are “special” and they get to skip the line. At the least kill that damn EB1-C
OP, we both know you are not eligible for EB1
Indeed
Why not encourage him to explore the options instead of giving galiyan.
Have you looked at the EB1 A/B requirements ? Phd is not a requirement but it helps a lot. I know people who have got both A/B without Phd. Was it easy? No way, very difficult
OP - Yes, Google does file EB1 for non-Phds if you've some sort of publications to support your case. A friend of mine did get her GC in EB1 and she did not have a PhD and was in Design. But she had her name on a couple of patents filed by previous employers and a couple of research articles. Hope this helps.
Was it A/B ? B is much easier than A I believe. Was it literally just 2 patents and 2 publications ?
I got one - eb1a. Had 1K citations and intl awards. No PhD but masters from top school
I think I know you
I have heard that criteria is >100 citations summing up over all your publications.
From what I know when I considered the possibility (10 years ago) is that there is no magic number. There is a list of criteria that are used to prove that you are in the top x% researchers for your field and that your work is internationally known and relevant.
@op yes but you need to have some press about you or some speaking engagements/peer-review experience in your field. I have seen engineers get it without phds but in all these cases they had some press about them or some speaking engagements in their field
What kind of speaking engagements will generate press ? Honorary speakers in a conference ? Even that would generate minimal press
Those two are independent things. You need a field first. Then get good at it and get speaking engagements. At the same time, have some project or small startup that gets press. Easier said than done, I understand.
This is a question you should ask your recruiter and immigration team. They can guide you better if you qualify for EB1 classifications or not. But unless you’ve patents, a PhD and you’re a well known published author in your subject it’s highly unlikely.
