EB2 priority date April 2018

Can I expect to get the EAD atleast in another 4 years? The current filling dates for EB2 are December 2014 Why do some people say 90 years to 150 years?

Microsoft nwkk85 May 15, 2022

Depends on number of people filled for GC between 2014-2018. Also depends on changes in law if any in next four years.

Ya true. Is there any way to find out how many people applied in these four years? Also just for clarification, the date of filing is the date you can apply for EAD and AP correct? Can you change employers with those documents? We don't need H1B after that right? I currently hate the job in in right now, and want to live to another company. But the new company has to start the process all over again correct?

Because the processing time is too slow. Majority of available green cards are going to waste every year

90 to 150 years seems silly. I’d say 60 years, maybe.

Microsoft zDOr03 May 15, 2022

Oh yes. 60 years is just completely reasonable. Let’s make immigrants work till they’re 90 before they can get their GC.

Yea, or when your kid turns 21. Be a good parent and don’t spank them, then maybe they’ll sponsor your GC once they turn 21.

Don’t listen to anyone as 90-150 is not realistic so be realistic as you will never get green-card thru employment route for Indian born person. 😢

The EB2 category is supposed to get 2000 GCs per year. Do to spillovers it gets close to 10k some years. There are over 600k people waiting for their GC. Do the math, if you don’t think 90 years makes sense.

If you go by the date of filing, then should get the EAD atleast ? How did the green card queue jumped by a year from the may to June 2022?

Meta 3point May 15, 2022

Google it.

It looks like, based on your questions above, you want an answer like may be. If you want lies, sure you will get in a year. If you want truth - honestly your wait time is 30-40 years away. GCs were made current in 2007 and in 2009ish the dates settled. After that the GC filing dates (note that there wasnt a filing date for most of the decade, but it's easy to extrapolate based on what happened last few years pre pandemic) moved a week every month at best. An easy way to look at this issue is input is 10x output. So every year you are away from the current date for filing, you are 10 years away. Let's say filing dates move to 2015 end in oct. Then you are staring at ~30 years of waiting. There are no hacks here in the waiting time. Wake up and realize you have been already denied GC due to your country of birth. Without a fix in law you will likely either retire or die before you get GC. Yes and do help folks who are working to remove backlog with eagle act. Outside of these law fixes nothing else will help you. Good luck 🙏🏽

So I won't even get EAD? I know green card takes for ever. So that's the point of paying taxes and working here ?

Google virotgolee May 16, 2022

Yeah you won't. Sorry 😐 I know this wasn't the answer you were hoping. Your current hope is for another pandemic and 2 more years of spillover ( although I don't want to wish this on anyone) . Remember that even once in a 100 year lifetime event (pandemic) couldn't clear the backlog. What's the point- yep that's a valid qn to ask. You have to answer that question. You are already denied GC due to country of birth but haven't been told yet. Sorry that's how the system works today. It's no different from discrimination due to race(an immutable characteristic). The only fix is in the law and without something like eagle act, you can never get GC in your lifetime. Your taxes don't matter, you weren't born in the right lat long. It's not an "attainable skill". Good luck 🙏🏽
