I recently received an offer from eBay and the recruiter reference the total comp number incl. the annual equity grant (in addition to the new hire grant) and said the annual grant will not be on the offer letter. So the total comp number the recruiter referenced is 15-20% higher than base + bonus + annualized new hire grant. I wonder how the total comp computed at eBay and if the annual grant is automatically considered as part of total comp with high certainty? Thanks! Current TC 400k YoE:8
This looks new . Everyone gets annual equity refresher according to level but you shouldn’t consider that as part of the offer . Tell recruiter that TC is what offer letter has and ask for more equity no matter what. PS: share offer numbers
The annual refresher grant is a component I’ll include while comparing offers as all companies don’t offer it. But it isn’t a part of the hiring offer. Annual refresher varies based on job level, role (SWE vs PM) and performance ratings. What’s the job level and the offer details?
Annual refresh should never be part of the offer. You can never guarantee refresh, this doesn’t make sense to include refresh as part of the offer
