Is the skyrocketing housing cost really putting Seattle residents out on the street? What’s the argument here? Genuinely curious.
Housing policy here prevents high density housing outside a very small core. Over 80% of growth is coming in 16% of Seattle’s land that is zoned for apartments and higher density condos. If we want cheaper housing we need to build a lot more housing - and that will only come with a reduction in listening to the NIMBY’s
Nobody ever taxed their way to prosperity. What we need is to stimulate the economy, so that the homeless can find jobs. Let’s lower taxes and the minimum wage.

Most homeless people don’t want jobs. In Seattle if you want a job you can have a job. This is not true in all cities but Seattle is one of them. I have limited sympathy for the homeless in Seattle. I have some sympathy for the homeless in sf la ny. I have a lot of sympathy for the homeless in emerging markets.
Oh I know. I have friends who make just over minimum wage. When they want a new job it usually takes them a few hours. There are even homeless people who camp outside restaurants shaming people into giving them money for “food”.... but if you dare offer them actual food they get so upset.
I think there are always those bunch. NY has that problem too, trust me.
Honestly? Because when people get mad at poverty (which is good), they lose their mind and blame anyone with money (not so good if they want to actually fix the problem rather than just yell at someone) I consider myself a huge advocate for the poor, but dang it if most of the other advocates aren't irrational idiots without a basic understanding of money.
There are people who cannot provide for themselves. Where should the money come from to support them, oh enlightened one?
The question was "Why is Amazon being blamed", not "Why should we help the homeless". The fact that you can't tell the difference between the two is the problem.
Liberal companies until money is involved. Lol... Looks like all these companies suddenly turned republican.
Companies aren’t liberal.... Starbucks has a location in Trump Tower for example.
This is not true. You may see the companies make headlines from time to time with left leaning statements. But their political donation are not leftist. Microsoft PAC donates to both Republicans and Democrats, although Democrat get a bit more. Look where the money goes, not the headlines
A sudden influx of money in a community can raise prices and cause problems. It's been well documented. I don't blame Seattle for wanting to manage economic growth more effectively
Lots of high paid employees in a small city raises housing costs. When costs rise, the bottom 10% that were barely making it financially, will become homeless

They aren’t being blamed. What makes you say that?
Because Seattle city council just instituted a $50m Amazon tax so that Amazon could “pay its fair share” in fighting homelessness and several of the city council members specifically blame Amazon for it?
Those figures you provided are exaggerated. The initial cost was $20MM/year however the city Council compromised and now the amount that Amazon will have to pay every year is $10MM which is 1% of what Bezos spends on rockets every year
