So when does housing become more affordable?

Not sure if this applies to UHaul, but anecdotally when we moved to CA, it took forever to get a moving truck from our mover to get our stuff. The reason was due to the limited number of rigs that can pass CA state commercial vehicle inspections. So its way harder to find a truck capable of getting into California than getting a Cali licensed truck to go elsewhere. I am sure that might create some interesting flaws in the move data like what is being reported.
Lol - No one in tech moves by renting a UHaul. In most cases, you sit on your ass(on your couch, flight etc) while packers pack, move and unpack your stuff.
I was tempted to call you an entitled asshole but then I realized I basically do the same thing.
It is the non techie moving out, and techie do move too.
I remember facing this issue when I was doing a furniture move for my family. I was donating some of my furniture to a family member down here and bringing back furniture from the in laws to another family member up in Seattle. The truck to Cali was $500. The truck back to Seattle was $1200. Itโs always more expensive to leave California. And this was over a decade ago.
Analysis is flawed. To compare the trend, they should have looked at the past price and have at least several data points to rule out some extraordinary events skewing the data.
Recently had my second kid and the preschool and hospital are not as crowded as when we had our first. It is true.
Yeah... kids are usually born from may to september. October to april are slow months, that's why. Also, people choose to have fewer kids these days cause bay area $$$$
People moving to bay area are usually young with just suit cases no u-haul.
Good! If anyone is thinking about leaving, please stop complaining about the Bay area and get out fast!
