Jealousy is a bad thing, bud.
Windows laptops comes pre installed with Microsoft crap..when is Microsoft being fined?
Lol only if they had that kind of maarket share
Oh. They were. Don't you remember?
It was good when it happened to msft as well. Before my time. but I see the don't be evil coolaid drinkers are here to defend their corporate overlords
Not a single google employee has responded. So who are you addressing?
I was responding the the posts above mine. You don't have to be a Google employee. There are a ton of non-googlers who are on the "do no evil" train.
Well you make shit load of money because of them..
Google is the new Microsoft
FANG become FANL
It's kinda BS that Google is basically getting punished for trying to exert some control over Android which we give out for free to OEMs, but Apple has their closed ecosystem. Should they be forced to allow others to manke iOS devices?
I agree. Especially since China has historically flaunted the licensing policy anyway, and there aren't today hardware restrictions on running alternative images. Besides that, Google exerts far less control over nearly every aspect than Apple does in their closed ecosystem. You could argue that Google has stifled innovation, but I don't believe it's reasonable to argue that the behavior has been anticompetitive. Additionally the single biggest complaint analysts have every quarter is TAC, which the EU apparently think shouldn't be allowed at all. Imho, if this rolling stands as is, it won't be good for the industry as a whole. This is not the same as msft in the past.
Well if you want to make Android a closed ecosystem, do it. Don’t tout its openness as a competitive advantage, and then try to exert control over it. At least, Apple is not hypocritical.
Google will get more and more regulated..
EU is desperate for money
I wonder if Apple should be punished next for forcing users to buy phones with preinstalled iOS.
