I'm trying to hire several Software Engineer L5s and L6s within AWS EC2. For L5, please have a minimum of 2 YoE and think LC easy/mediums are a breeze. For L6, minimum of 5 YoE and likewise can crush leetcode and system design at scale. I don't think L6 needs to worry about LC hard questions. Please also be well versed on Amazon's leadership principles and have rehearsed answers -- behavioral at Amazon matters just as much if not more than technical. Ping me and send me a publicly accessible link your resume on Google Drive or Dropbox and I can refer you directly to my teams. To know what my teams are like, keep reading: Horror stories or WLB at Amazon are not true on my team. I average 30-45 hours a week (in the past 8 weeks I haven't worked more than 40), I primarily WFH, and log on when I please. We are requiring in office now 2x a week if you end up being based out of VA, but we are hiring out of NYC/NJ, Austin, Nashville, Sunnyvale, and Seattle too -- all of which would effectively be full remote. On call is a week once every 3 months, so operational load is not high. YBYO (You Build it You Own It) model of work, which is refreshing. L5 TC is ~275K. Varies +/- 50K probably based on experience. Could vary an additional +50K in high CoL areas (Seattle, SF or NYC). That means an offer for 350K in Seattle isn't out of the question at L5. I'm based out of Virginia. 1 PIP within my org within the last 2 years, and it was because an L4 was coasting for 3+ years. Yes, there are PIP quotas, but it's 5% across an org per level, which means if you're literally not the worst person, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. These roles are NOT to target a backfill - my immediate team has split recently and doubled in size. Tech stack is (obviously) AWS services and Java. Internal tools are in Ruby, Python, and Go. Extremely interesting problems to solve and the scale/impact within EC2 is unimaginable unless you've worked here. L6 TC I've seen anywhere from 300K to 600K depending on how good you are at anchoring and negotiating, performance in the interview, and YoE. #hiring #jobopening #recruiting
Straight up offered 275k for L5 while internal promotes are paid š„? Feel so freaking proud for these Amazon managers trying to hire on Blind, no other companiesā managers are doing it so aggressive as this.
As expected L4 targeted for a pip. You do know right that there is something called as focus before it ?
Can I still apply if I recently failed onsite?
No.
So 375 is top for hcol? Any idea how people on blind are getting 400-425? Super desperate orgs or something?
No, it's an estimate. Like I said, it all depends on YoE. I know someone who just got L5 in VA at 360K but he has like a decade of experience
Ultimately performance in the interview matters a ton too
Wow 1 week oncall every 3 months is that the norm? Iām doing something wrong then I have oncall here every 5 weeks

I have an L4 offer I rejected a couple of months ago. Would you be open to hiring for L5? I do not plan on doing another 6h full loop. I have 6yoe. Tc offered was 250k remote VA. Fwiw, I am working with OCI since then.
Hm, I'm not sure how that works. PM me as a reminder and I'll ask HR. My gut tells me you'd have to do a full loop again, at minimum.
