Will Gas cars be banned by 2040? For net zero target ๐ค I wonโt drive same car by 2040, but thats just a theory. What shall I buy? EV or GAS ๐ If EV then which one? If GAS then which one? If EV - budget 60k If GAS - budget 35k TC: 220k Location: Bay Area #misc #newcar #firstcar
Buy Camel ๐ช instead
I had the same doubt. So I bought a Model S plaid and a Maserati. Kept it simple and protected myself from any future discontinuation challenges.
Your budgets are greater than me๐!!
Bullshit
Get one of each. If you can only get one, depends on your lifestyle and proximity to charger.
Hybrid is the way to go bud
Buy a donkey and ride it. Net negative.
If EV Tesla because charging infrastructure is the biggest lag for other brands. I would go PHEV if you use your car as a commuter and can charge it overnight at home. Otherwise non-EV until lighter battery tech comes out (20% lighter seems to be achieved in small production and on the way to industrialization) and charging network gets consistent enough for non Tesla to be viable.
You are misinformed. PHEV won't help in traffic. pHEV charged overnight? Did you confuse with plugin hybrids maybe? The non tesla fast charging network in CA has evolved a lot in 3 years. Today, the Tesla pull is much less. Source: I own both current generation Tesla and non-Tesla EVs
Doesn't PHEV literally stand for Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle? I can do most of my daily commute and grocery runs on electric so I'm getting more than a 100mpg... until I do a roadtrip and my average drop really fast to around 30mpg which is really average Interesting on the evolution of the non Tesla charging network in CA. I'm most likely going electric on the next car in a handful of years
if you are fortunate enough to be able to help reduce pollution, why not do it! For best efficiency - Tesla / Mustang For best name tag - Audi Q4 etron For best bang for the buck - Kia EV6 For best luxury - Genesis GV60 / GV70
Buy. Today. LOL. People have been holding their reservations for 12-18 months. The only EV you can buy is if you get lucky and physically run into such a one on the lot. They don't stay there for longer than 12 hours though. Good luck!
