Failed bet in EVs is another lesson - Listen to your customers, not the government. Nobody wants this toy except for some misinformed "climate activists " BTW hertz share price has fallen 75% since EV debut lol https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2024-04-03/hertz-htz-selling-electric-cars-ends-its-failed-tesla-bet

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
Remember when AOC said the world was ending in 5 years? đđđđđ
Her brains are fried
AOC is not wrong. Look at the world right now. I have been waiting to see this since I learned astrology.
I love EVs and I don't give a fuck about climate change cultists. Climate change is obviously a scam. Find me a $50K ICE car that has more passing power than a Model Y. I drive an EV because of the performance. I also do not like gas stations. If I had the money I would get V12 gas cars and I would have my staff gas up the car and drive me around. The best autonomous driving system is a human chauffeur.
People with ICE cars are just brainwashed. So much bs being spread about range, not wanting to charge 4 hrs a day etc.
To be fair I had the same concerns before I owned a Tesla. EVs still have some issues but range is not one of them for people who can charge at home. EVs are the perfect vehicles for the suburbia where people can install their own chargers.
In fact I bought an RV. Iâm not lessening my gas use Iâm increasing it.
Hertz is probably failing for their extremely poor customer service and policies. EV or non-EV, they suck. Every other vehicle has a problem, unapologetic rude customer service, $10 per gallon charge if you dont fillup (dont know about charging for EV returns). Combine all of those and you know why they suck.
No one wants a car that you have to stop for a long time to charge more than you have to stop and get gas. Until they can make A batteries last 1K plus miles or B charge in 2 minutes people are not going to buy it. EVs have been on the market for 2 decades, batteries have barely improved. We need batteries that last much longer.
I stop for a charge about 5 times a year. Also, with a supercharger, it is so fast I barely have time to have coffee and use the bathroom. Range is a problem for those who drive for 10 hours straight wearing a diaper.
No car fills with gas in 2 minutes.
Ur a 𤥠Sent from my Tesla Model S Plaid
I can rent one in turo for less than $100 . Abuse it to the core, and the owner bears all the cost kek
Model s plaid?
âNobody wants this toyâ Tesla model Y was the best selling car in the world in 2023.
Ppl bought because of FOMO, now bagholding the trash which will depreciate 75% in 3 years. In about 8 years, cost of battery replacement will be greater than the value of car lol
Who cares? In 3 years the replacement cost will also be a lot less. We paid more for our Y but we also got an amazing trade in deal for our 3. The Y would be a steak even at $60K. Only Chinese EV companies can compete with Tesla.
Itâs a problem of infrastructure and price. ICE cars have the luxury of being refined and developed for 100yrs. Serious development of electric cars obviously hasnât had this timeâyet. Itâs hard to convince people to invest in EVs when theyâre more expensive than current ICE cars, especially in areas outside of major metro hubs. To otherâs pointsâprice/range/infrastructure has to catch up, and it will. 50 yrs from now, EVs will be the norm or at least occupy a large part of the auto market.
I don't see how EVs are more expensive than gas cars. Nothing with an ICE engine can produce the same instantaneous torque in the same price range. EVs are actually better for the suburbia where people have SFHs and their own garages. In the city, charging is more of a problem.
Model Y isnât more expensive than a gas car. Thatâs part of why it sells better than any gas car.
Climate change is real. Infrastructure is lacking for EVs, especially for rentals where you are depending on others in unfamiliar places.
We will agree to disagree that climate change is real. The infrastructure for Teslas is already very good. Electrify America is also building up the network. Rental companies do not like Tesla because they cannot repair their cars independently. For a fleet operator, that could be a major cost difference. For an individual, who cares? It's not like I will repair my own car anyway.
We will agree to disagree on everything you said.
I guess it really hertz their business
