I got an informal offer from EY over email. I didn’t receive any response to my next few emails asking some questions, we left voice notes for each other and got on one call to negotiate and accept the offer. She asked I accept over email which I did (stating the new conditions). No acknowledgement. She said I’ll have the final offer once the systems are back up. I have another one offer on the table which I was about to decline. Is this typical EY? Do I really have an offer lol
I recently interviewed with and they gave me a verbal confirmation of selection after just one interview Normally I have heard a 3 interview process is in place at other big 4 Looks like a trap for a shitty position to me Still waiting to hear from them for offer numbers
Yeah. Keep us posted here? Just want to know the process.
Also do you think it’s appropriate to reach out to others on the team in case of no response? Like those who interviewed me, including partner.
You should. I talked to people who interviewed me and they tried to help.
Which team is that? And why is this recruiter leaving voice notes lol. This is a bad hiring experience. Please feel free to reach out happy to escalate internally for better candidate experience. And typically, they move quite fast when it comes to offers.
Thanks. I just got a call from the TA this morning (I reached out to her. She was the first one to call me for an EY interview. The recruiter is still non-responsive). The TA said that they are definitely moving forward with my offer, the email is valid and the formal offer will take a couple weeks since they are working on an HR system update. It’s a really bad experience but I loved the team, the partner wants me on, and the offer is good.
I think you should inform the EY HR over an email that you have another offer that you need to respond to. I would not decline another good offer unless you have an actual offer letter from EY. Also, check if you can get an extension from the other company to accept/decline the offer. I’ve done this multiple times by saying that I’m not feeling well and need time to recover. A lot of times, at EY, they finalize the candidates and the position just gets cancelled due to changes in business or deals falling out. In such cases, the offers are not sent out to potential candidates. So I would only believe in an actual offer letter, even if I have a written confirmation about my selection.
Got it. Thanks!! I’ve an email with numbers, benefits, etc. And I got a call this morning that the system upgrade is causing the delay in churning out official offers. The other offer is 50k off on base so I’d like to take my chances on EY. :) Might delay the other one though.
Hey all, I was talking to a HR for a referral last week and she did mention that we are retiring some of the HR systems related to recruitment (e.g., Taleo). So, maybe that's causing a delay?? Just wanted to share some info
Yeah that’s what I was told this morning as well.
Is this Assurance? Trust me, we need you. This recruiter is just being lazy or messed up or there was a miscommunication, I’m sure that they still want you to work
Please run
Yeah typical. I was campus hire and my official offer arrived 2 months after the recruiter congrats call
I had a horrible experience with EY. They gave me an informal offer through a phone call. They assured it’d be for the location I wanted and my salary was going to be around the ballpark I wanted. I got the offer by email a few weeks later and the location was not the location they had first told me, and the offer was for nearly 20k less. Unless you have it on paper, don’t believe them.
Oh damn! I have the numbers on email though. So hopefully I’m good.
Numbers in an email mean nothing. That's why you sign an offer letter.
