Ebay MTS 1 Software engineer interviews
I have an upcoming interview for MTS 1 at eBay. What to expect in the interviews .. would it be more design oriented ? Or leetcode? Please share pointers. Also how is the leveling done at eBay? Is it MTS after SE3?
I have my 1st round with the HM.. would it be behavioral? I’m confused as usually the 1st round would not be behavioral
It’ll mostly be a System Design focused interview. We normally don’t have dedicated behavioral interviews but it could be different for different teams.
HM can be design as well, HM’s are ex engineers so they are pretty decent in system design

Leaving on great terms. With “the doors wide open when a level 29 spot opens up”. My manager loves me. Might consider coming back in a decade when the kids are in college and I want to rest and vest.
Some design. Leetcode. Little to none behavioral.
We don't have a standard system, it would depend on the team, once your recruiter reaches out with details about the interview panel you can somewhat guess. Lower the grade, higher the chances of the interview being coding focused. For MTS-1 level, our team has atleast a couple of senior engineers run system design rounds. Brushing up "Grokking the system design interview" should be more than sufficient. I know my answer is late, I was directed to this thread for different reasons but I genuinely hope it helps. Yes MTS 1 is after SDE3. Refer to levels.fyi to compare MTS with other companies. As far as interviews, it would be 3 leetcode interviews, 1 system design interview and 1 behavior/manager round.
