Looking to buy smart thermostat for home and confused between ecobee and nest. Which one would you recommend and why? Been researching online and both of them seem comparable so thought to check in with expert folks here.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ecobee is useful if you want the remote sensors. If you have no need for remote sensors, it's really about which one you like best (looks and user interface).
Nest learns; Ecobee doesn't
Nest can’t understand slightly more complex setups and might require a pro installer which will double your cost. Ecobee is clearly made by people who understand HVAC, works with complex systems with a wizard to guide you.
Also, Nest doesn’t support HomeKit, so forget about asking Siri to change the temperature or anything. This only affects if you have any iDevide at home
Obligatory TC or GTFO comment... pretty happy with Nest.
Bought Ecobee with 3 sensors, very happy with it. I am unclear what Nest could be learning that Ecobee isn’t.
I’m a huge fan of Nest especially since it works in an ecosystem with other Nest devices. I’ve installed 30+ Nest thermostats and 50+ Nest smoke detectors. Not a single issue. Yet.
Comcast uses Nest, seen it in action & would recommend. Looked into YouTube Videos with difference?
