From internet research it looks ecobee offers granular hvac control and nest is mostly for people who enjoys set and forget. I m wondering if nest will get more software updates in the future since it's powered by Google. Pls share your thoughts
I went with ecobee for 2 reasons: 1 not a google product that will be forgotten by its masters, 2 works well with HomeKit
Once an HVAC guy told me to not go with Nest as it messes up the furnace leading to costly repairs down the road. He recommended Ecobee.
Ecobee x 100, I have 2 of them and evaluated heavily my options. Google doesn’t need more of my data and ecobee works with my HomeKit. Also I think it looks better
Enhanced or premium?
Neither. Go on eBay and get some refurb 4th gen.
Ecobee is by far the better thermostat. The settings and capabilities around the remote sensors give you a tremendous amount of visibility and control of your system. Especially valuable when you have young/infant children and you want to prioritize their room’s temperature over others.
This. Look up beestat app/website to pair with ecobee too. Incredible graphs and visualization tools, only some of which are available on native ecobee website!!!
