Anyone use firms like Pathrise or Interview Kickstarter to prepare for interviews? Was it worth it? Did you get an offer(s)? Pay bump or job at a dream company? Which firm did you use?
Depends on your starting point and your own discipline. If you can already do most LC mediums by yourself it’s not really worth it.
I wouldn’t pay someone a substantial amount to prep for interviews. Leetcode is pretty much all you need, pay 35 a month for premium and sit down and actually work through problem patterns. It’s not rocket science, do their mock interview sessions which are 3/4 problems with company tagged questions, don’t cheat or look for hints, if you’re totally blocked take note of what you’re blocked on - is it getting to a solution that works? Is it implementing the solution without bugs? Is it discussing trade offs? Is it exploring test cases? Interviewers are really looking for one thing - can this person solve problems and would I enjoy working with them.
It's only worth if it's like cohort groups where you learn something else aside from interview prep. Like the ones that teach you what to expect of working groups once inside the industry. Aside from that, I would avoid the ones that only focus on LC style problems and just do leetcode instead.
I personally attended one and felt it’s not worth it.. I’m talking about PR by the way
No interviews or job offers? Did you feel like you could’ve done all the interview prep yourself?
If you’re still at CBSi/Paramount, then yeah… it obviously didn’t work. Lowest quality hiring bar in the industry here.
I did Interview Kickstart. Omkar's Data Structures/Algo videos are very good. One stop solution for all leetcode style questions Apart from that not much
My advise is - listen to your mind and heart. Be honest in evaluating yourself in solving coding problems and system design. If you need level up find suitable one for you and join the program. I joined IK and landed a good offer, although it’s not my dream but I get a good bump from where I was.
