How’s work life and benefits at F5 networks

In addition to interviewing at big corps, been pursuing an opportunity at F5. #F5 #F5Networks Just wanted to get an understanding of the work-life balance, bureaucracy and benefits. And how’s the pay structure for someone at senior or principal? Looking for current state that can tell more than what Glassdoor already does. Payment: Hey Satya, I am hitting Refresh aka F5 :)

Good question!

So, comp is pretty good. Benefits are very good. They pay for everyone in the entire family if you go with the HSA plan. I get ~30k RSUs a year, vesting over 8 quarters. Work life balance can be tough depending on the role. As the company has grown, the new higher ups they bring in are from Cisco and IBM, making for a bit of bureaucracy. HTH

The work life balance is great. Have never had to choose between the two. Family first isn’t just a catchy HR phrase. Have always seen and experienced it executed in actual situations.

Late post but adding for another response. Cisco execs are a thing of the past. They were brought in when Manny was CEO, but they’re either out all ready or about to get the boot. As for layoffs, those were all people who couldn’t, or wouldn’t evolve to the new leadership and accountability of strong companies. They were dead weight. Pay is good. 10% annual cash bonus with about 20% RSU. Beer friday is cool. You can contribute and make good moves. Politics are in small pockets, but not prevalent like the tech giants.

2d tier company with lower pay. Very political. Great work-life balance. If you rate compensation high, look elsewhere. If you rate effort v.s. pay high, F5 is great choice.

Do they have unlimited PTO like other tech companies? 401k match? Health insurance pricey?
