PM is irrelevant role and will die in next 2-3 years.
Horrible 🤮 https://finance.yahoo.com/news/twitter-staff-h-1b-visas-163303403.html
Bad boss.. no one with a choice will want to work there except a few right wing zealots. At the end of the day the h1b staff will save the company or it will go down but it will never improve
And some ass lickers that think they’ll be made CTO or C-2
While this is a total d move, companies dont owe anyone anything. We sign up for this risk when we sign the offer. Also long and drawn out labor laws make sure nobody gets hired fast enough either. The folks being let go here are some of the most hirable.
We sign up for the risk when part of our compensation is in stock. We go down or up with the company. We don't sign up for bullshit bosses. We should be able to change our boss if they are shit. Or we need strong labour laws so that we are given proper time to find an alternative boss, who is possibly not shit. They are not doing any charity by paying us. We work, they pay, less than what we deserve so that the company can make profit. We also grow with the company. A bullshit boss can eat their own shit by working alone. But if they involve us, they better treat us good.
Not really, we sign up for “at will” employment. Just that the “at will” portion of it hasnt been felt in tech for the last few years. I understand the pain that some of these H1B visa holders have, but everyone knew what they signed up for. That’s why a risk is a risk, even with a small probability it can screw you over. Your point about BS bosses is a slightly different one but that one I am all for. All companies should offer internal mobility and it should be easy.
Lets be honest. Twitter never needed 7500 in the first place, thats why it was losing money left and right lol. Elon is right. While I do sympathize with the person who was laid off, You don’t need more than 2000 people to run a f**** software company like Elon mentioned. Now if Twitter was actually making something like Tesla or Spacex, it would be a different story
Those employees were hired for a good reason. Jack Dorsey is an excellent CEO who founded and operated plenty of very successful companies. Claiming he was hiring staff that didn't need to be there is absurd. Jack also turned Elon into a 🤡 making him pay 44B for Twitter 😂😂 You can cut employees sure, but you also cut the work they were doing. Elons delusion of employees working 10x for same pay will never happen. The Twitter he is running is just a husk. The front end facade holds but behind the scenes it's a disaster.
Lmao I lost you at “Jack Dorsey is an excellent CEO” lol, Whatever that guy touches literally turns to 💩 First it was Twitter which Elon had to buy and to fix all the mess he created Then it was Bitcoin which is now -75% of its all time high And lastly Square stock which is down -80% as well
Stop, I can't handle all this winning.
At least they are getting severance. Twitter is now going to compete with Truth Social for right wing supremacy.
Are they actually getting it, though? Feels like this should be unnecessary if so. https://twitter.com/AkivaMCohen/status/1598487532764798983
I have a friend like this. She lawyers up at the drop of a hat. If we weren't friends, I wouldn't hire her because she is a DAP.
He wants new people
