I'm an embedded Linux engineer with a few years of experience (have some changes merged in upstream Linux kernel as well) looking to move out of embedded Linux and into a domain that uses Go/Rust. I recently interviewed with a company and learnt enough Go to pass a Hackerrank test. So I know I can learn new things quickly. But I got passed over because I don't have experience in distributed systems and networking like they wanted. How do I get a non embedded company to take a chance on me?
Why you wanna leave embedded
A friend of a friend or Referral And btw you only got rejected by a single company. Maybe the next one will want you. Ask exactly that question to hiring manager during the interviews. Try to be very specific in your questions. Oh my friend in switzerland is hiring guys that does embedded rust for robotics companies. How did I miss that. 🤣 also fpga
