How far does Amazon go back when doing employment verifications?
Last 5 years
Do you know anyone who’s gone through this process as I’m getting different answers?
I did 2 years ago. They go through this online company is all. It’s fairly straightforward. What are you worried about? DM me and I can give you more details.
Actually depends on the company they use. Usually they require 5-7 years of history and everything on your resume. I received a copy of mine - they were unable to verify my freelance work but HR didn't seem to care 🤷♀️
Do you know what company they use? So if my resume lists 25 years of experience with six different companies, will they go back the entire 25 years?
HireRight. And I highly doubt it. They don't have time to make all those calls/don't get paid enough 😂
Sometimes they dont do employment verification. Only adresses, ssn , criminal etc
Did you go through the process?

As far as whatever is on your resume. Your resume goes to the verification company and you are asked to submit your work titles/dates manually. Amy discrepancy between the two gets flagged for HM. Then company verifies what you put in, and any discrepancy gets flagged there too. Also criminal background check happens.
So would they go back through 25 years of work history?
If you put it all in the resume, and the manual form then yes. But I think the manual form only asks you for the last 5-7 years or so. I have never received a flag from the verification for a job more than 5 years ago.
