I am working as a software engineer in Manchester at 65k gbp. I have got an offer from Apple Hyd India with TC (32 base +20 rsu + 8 relocation) Should I move back to India or should I continue to work in UK. The thing is I like the work life balance and the good quality of living here in UK and maybe after some time in like 4-5 years I can grt ILR. But my company in UK is not pretty well known to anyone outside UK. What should I do? YOE-5 #tech #apple #uk
Don't come back to India at any cost. Both the culture and work life balance is messed up in India. You're doing well in the UK. Stay back in the UK and look for a switch which can increase the TC.
I am thinking probably the same. My actual work in UK is completed within 2-3 hours max, that much I work everyday maximum
That's a dream for anyone working in India. I usually spend around 2-4 hours in the meeting itself and then total 13-14 hours per day. While I need to work on Saturday, Sunday and holidays as well. Even if it's off on the paper and attending meeting at 2/3/4 am in the night and again attending meeting at 10 in the morning. Even after doing all this. Got laid off out of nowhere in the name of cost cutting.
If you are already comfortable in UK stay there, no gain in moving back.
I think you should work towards getting your ILR as you'd lose all progress made so far if you move to India (unless you don't mind). Plus, you never know what the new rules might be if you decide to move back to the UK in the future. There will always be more opportunities in big tech. Also, chances are, if you have an offer from Apple for India, there could be opportunities in the UK in the future and your recruiter will think of you.
