Hi, What are the different software engineering levels at GE Digital?
Didn't they just have a big layoff. Why consider GE now
GE's HR sets 3 standard professional bands across the entire corporation under executive level and most will fit into these: Professional, lead professional, and senior professional. At GE Digital there are six SWE levels that map into these which are associate/specialist swe, swe, senior, staff, sr staff, and principal. Above this on the technical track varies by organization but would be something like chief engineer
They have opened a new office in San Francisco (basically in a co-work location) and are expanding that location. It seems they are doing cool tech stuff over there. Any insights on the total comp for sr staff or principal engineer? Can I expect $275k to $300k total comp?
Pretty unlikely. Good comp has always been a issue at that company. They still have culture shock from moving to the Bay Area. RSU are only for top performers and even if you get one as a sr staff it will still be probably under 50k and on a 5 year vesting period. I've seen a lot of people get 2% raises when getting promoted to SPB band and excuse from HR was that your title will be more marketable

Wait so you want to go from msft to ge? Ge the oldest of the old school ever?? Lol
Why PI why? Off course if you live in San Ramon- in that case it's easy money. But you can work from peoplesoft office in Pleasanton. Unless you prefer being incompetent, don't even think.
Lol. Makes sense
