I report to a person who become manager recently. He was a developer before. Needless to say he doesn’t know how to manage. He seems to spend too much time thinking of his next promotion to director than actually helping folks in the team. What should we do so our team gets help so we can finish our roles? Everyone gave him feedback but he doesnt seem to listen. It seems like ppl are just doing what it takes to get next promotion not actually doing the role they are in... shouldn’t ppl be promoted based on what they are doing for their role than what they can do on their potential future promoted role?
