I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Wonder if people can assess this offer for Etsy (Manager role): Base: 180k RSUs: 300k/4 years Bonus: 15% I’m taking a significant pay cut after leaving my last job (20k less on base), but I can’t be too picky in this market. I expect to receive a competing offer soon with a max base of 218k and no equity (pre IPO), so Etsy is looking attractive given all their benefits and company performance. Edit: YoE: 7+, don’t know level #etsycompensation
YEO and level?
Is it in bay area?
Remote
Manager role oof, so this sounds like at least L5?
I think it would be wise to take it though regardless
180 >> 0
Good point…
I always see this bum reason of anything tc > 0. Nothing reasonable here. Once you get an offer and make a move it will kind of be difficult to switch immediately. If confident to land other offers soon then I would wait a week or so unless having visa issues which I haven’t accounted for.
manager role ? it’s tooo low for a manager, I won’t take any job with tc < 350k
Oof…. Don’t get laid off. It’s brutal out there. You wouldn’t get close to that right now
how brutal it is? are you in the job search? I still have recruiters approaching on LinkedIn
Etsy posts salary ranges. Where does this stack up?
Considering the present market condition it’s a good offer if they allow you to work remote. If you have to visit Bay Area with that same TC then it’s avg offer.
You are encouraged to visit NYC a few times a year (avg 3?), all expenses paid though, so why would it matter?
This is a solid LCOL remote offer. I’ve had 3 offers (mid-sr) in the last 3 months and nothing cracked 200k.
what’s the base and rsu ?
What’s the level? And what function? Hard to tell but agree taking something solid in this market is better than nothing
Ask the level before you join. Just so you know it and can do better research online.
Something basic like “How is this role/offer leveled?” is absolutely fine to ask.
