Job security is generally better in EU. Depends on country though, some have more protective laws than others.
It is definitely less brutal than the US.
I’m talking about 10-15 years exp.
10 to 15 years can get 95 to 115 average 105k base pay, 200k tc is possible in Apple with this
It is typically less brutal but you can't avoid it if the company really wants or needs to. Twilio's UK team was hit hard in Sep. It just took longer to process than the US employees. A friend was just laid off in Spain (diff company) and got 33 days pay per year by law because it counted as unfair dismissal. Said that even if fair dismissal, it's 23 days per year. That said, the recent payout by companies like Twilio and Stripe were actually more generous than many would get in UK for short tenure.
Job security is better (no at will employment). Layoffs are a different story. The market is getting very tough now though. Seeing 3-4x the applications for my team’s open roles compared to early this year. It has turned to an employer’s market now for sure.
Regulations in Europe make it harder to lay people off. Those that are have decent packages and due to socialized medicine don't lose their health insurance.
While a termination for cause or a layoff is painful anywhere on the receiving end, the severance is often more generous in Europe. Some US companies do it with empathy though, such as Stripe. Overall, if the economy crashes, any tech company is going to cut costs to allow the business to endure. There's nowhere to hide. TC of > 150k EUR is totally achievable at principal or director level and beyond in London or Zurich with big tech or successful global startups.
London and Zurich are two completely different beasts..

150TC in EU is rare no?
Seems achievable with 10 -15 years exp. Probably the ceiling though
It’s definitely nowhere near the ceiling, not even in mcol, let alone London/Zurich.
