Base is pretty good! Equity can go up to 150K/yr but you will need data points to convince to give you this much. Sign on can go up to 100k. Again, data points needed to convince them to give you this much. Data points would be competing offers or current vesting schedule with current employer. Good luck

I’d argue the likelihood of dying due to rampant crime offsets that
both of you are wrong. State income tax means nothing because pay is bumped up in the Bay Area to offset taxes. And although you might be too scared to leave your own home, most people in Seattle are chilling and enjoying the city. Stay in your backyard if you are afraid of the world.
You probably cab do better, but the offer is not bad. Unless your publications are specific to the work in the role you are being hired you are mostly playing with 8 YOE.

Apple is lowballing by default. I don't think you can raise it with a competing offer. They always have fanboys who are willing to join for less TC than other big tech, so they don't need to compete for top talent
