Received verbal offer from Disney streaming for Seattle location. Refreshers stop TC from falling unlike Microsoft. Team and work looks very good Role Senior software engineer TC 240K Base 175 Stocks 150/3 years 50k per year YOE 5 years in tech Sign on Bonus 35k Annual bonus 7% on base Refresher/LTI 35% ie 60k vested for 3 years Current at Microsoft L62 TC 215K #microsoft #amazon #hulu #disney #disneystreaming #google #meta #facebook #oracle #warner #apple
Is this the 1st offer or after negotiation?
first offer and there is very little room for negotiation any suggestions on negogiation?
Looks like we haven't included the bonus & Refreshers LTI in 240k calculation. After including it, it should be more. Are you sure about the part where 35% is vested over 3 years rather than 1 year
Could you please share your interview experience
Doesn’t Microsoft give good refreshers?
Don’t go to Disney. It’s a sinking ship
can you eloborate ? BTW it is streaming different from parks.
Disney streaming is not profitable yet even after raising prices several times. It doesn’t seem like a sustainable business. And not sure what the future steps are to attain profitability without job cuts and reducing expenses. I would be wary of it if you are on a visa.
I think the calculation is incorrect. First year TC is 292k 175k base + 50k stocks + 35k sign on bonus + 12k annual bonus + 20k LTI and subsequent years is 257k without sign-on bonus
Too much, should be like 15.99/mo for both I think
this is one of the best offers you can get for p3 roles at disney. just an FYI that the bonus is a target based on your performance / team performance / company performance. this year company performance was at 98% so, people with good performance generally got around 6.5-7% bonus at your level. last year company performance was great, so people got like 10-12% bonus. it’s also possible at Disney to get performance-based LTI grants (not well-publicized) which are determined by your team’s leadership. for example i was a lead on D+ advertising tier and earned a 20k LTI.
Check the benefits. 401k match, HSA, free medical, espp, etc. Your TC bump is so low that you may end up loosing money
Yoe?
