then this lesson in large layoffs would not apply to the big tech companies that are already very profitable, like Google. It might apply to companies that are losing money and are not profitable. If he succeeds in making Twitter profitable, eventually, it will become another, healthy, profitable tech corp, and will start hiring a bunch of employees again, eventually reaching and growing past than their previous ~7,500 employees, to chase more profits. Since these big companies, like Apple and Alphabet, already produce revenue of $1-3 million USD per employee, they would only marginally increase this profitability, in the short term, by having large layoffs, and could lose more value in the long run with decreased productivity, growth, and reputation. One counter-argument is to look at Meta, which decided to do layoffs, even though they were making revenue of ~$1.3 million per employee, down from ~$1.5 million. But they laid off less than 15% of employees, whereas Twitter laid off 80+%. And, once Meta becomes more profitable again, they probably won't continue with large layoffs, and just grow. #tech #layoffs #Twitter #Elon #Google #Alphabet #Apple
If they are successful then it proves the road to profitability is: Step one - have Elon Musk as your CEO… I’m thinking most companies will fail there. To assume you can archive the man’s results without the man himself is going to prove foolish.
Why are you going to archive his results? For posterity?
He’s publicly attacking a company that stoped advertising on Twitter, I doubt they will ever be a player in the the advertising game again. That means to be profitable they need to make massive changes and without the knowledge of how the systems work they risk causing outages.
Elon’s reputation now is so tarnished - he has turned Tesla and his companies like Twitter into a toxic waste dumpster fire 🔥 He’s done and I will imagine that sponsors, users and customer (Tesla) will not support it - there will be a drop in sales and usage Brand is tarnished - Tesla is a giant MAGA hat on wheels
Didn‘t even cross my mind, but since you said it, it must be true. I don't agree with the things that Trump's said, but silencing someone just because of opposing views just shows how insecure and intolerance one can be.
No one silence trump, he silenced himself. Anyone who posts racist, sexist or anything that encourage people to try to overthrow the democratic govt should be banned. That should be the case in any social network including Blind. There is a reason for the report button. It is why Ye is banned.
To be profitable, stop running a company like an adult daycare for your employees.
Google "private equity" and you'll see this concept has existed long before Elon.
Investors want profit growth not just profitable McDonald’s is also profitable

The man I love hates me because I’m Vietnamese
I mean… the internal data shows he’s making a fool out of it. Nobody dares to tell him the truth… An emperor wears no cloths So I don’t worry much about twitter doing good (ironically and sadly)
People willing to bet on he turns around every business he touches
Internal data on what metric ? Costs were not cut enough ? Revenue was affected too much ?
