I am currently an L5 Recruiter at Amazon who got a down-leveled L3 exec researcher offer at Google. 5 years of experience. No guarantee but I have good momentum at Amazon with a chance for L6 promotion Q3 2022. At max, the offer at google would be 150k-155k TC. Priorities: -growth -work/life balance -positive culture Trying to evaluate the short term loss for long term gain, especially since I’d be entering into a new area of recruiting. What would you do? #techrecruiter #tech #joboffer
Stay at amazon and eat mo bananas.
For executive recruiting? Do you have exec recruiting experience?
Ah disregard, I totally misunderstood
Did u apply for this role?
No I was recruited
100% stay at Amazon. L3s are for newish junior recruiters.. you would be setting yourself back. However if you are interested in exec and willing to take that risk, this might be worth it. Alternatively, you could transfer to Amazon's exec recruiting team.
Helpful perspective! Trying to weigh the short term loss for long term gain.
For sure. The good thing is Google will always be there. I will say there's a lot of uncertainty bc you'll need to relearn the perf reviews and what is valued at Google. That will take more time. In addition, L3 is a very junior level for someone closeish to a L6 at Amazon, even if the leveling isn't 1:1 at both companies.

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
They down level everyone now. What BS reason they give you?
That I didn’t have the executive recruiting experience. Apparently they down level more often for executive recruiting roles vs regular recruiting
