Executive hates me after failed compensation convo

Few months back i started doing an engineering contract and have performed very well. 2 execs took me into a room and offered me a full time role in an IC title but team lead/ manager responsibilities. Things were going great until they mentioned the low ball offer which is 20% below market average. I was surprised and upset so i accidentally made a comment mentioning it was low. I asked for something higher like 10% below average to at-least maintain base salary from contract rate. One exec seems to be willing to try to work it out, the other has stopped talking to me and refuses to really acknowledge my existence. I also sense some hostility from a few other folks such as finance immediately after. What should i do? Was what i did wrong? Current TC: 115k TC offered: 105k salary (115k after bonus) Market average: 140k (total cash comp via paysa) Title: Data engineer

You should just email Jeff and explain this and then see what happens

You are reading too much into it. Keep doing a good job if they want you they will offer you. Also, keep in mind that the exec might be doing on purpose;)

What is the purpose other than low ball?

I mean he’s not talking to you on purpose probably to make you agree on low salary. Not because he hates you.

lol. I’ve never seen such unprofessionalism. What is he, like a high school student or something? Give him a banana and tell him to chill the fuck down!

Worst part is he was the one who vouched for me to go management route he apparently had a-lot of respect for me then it disappeared like poof at salary negotiation time........

He wasn't doing a service to you. He was trying to show his boss that he got you sign up for the offer for low through cajoling, lying and ego boosting. Now that you're not, you don't exist. As simple as that.

I don't think you did anything wrong. The response could simply have been this is the best we can offer so please think over it and let us know by X date. That executive is playing mind games with you and acting from the position of having done a service and therefore if you really need more money, you really should run away else you'll pay back for the service very dearly. Think of him doing this after you ask for a well deserved promotion. It's better to cut losses now as nature and signature of people are very hard to change. His behavior already shows that he's not interested in you for the value you asked and there's nothing more to read there. If you leave and he tries to stop you, don't stay because it shows that this guy lied to you and you really don't want to work with someone like this. There could be another reason why they might stop you which is desperation. Even in that situation, leave because eventually they'll kick you out once they get the work off you. I interviewed few months ago and had several offers. Not once did any executive behave like this. All they shared was this was the best we could offer you and are sorry that this couldn't work out; let's stay in touch.
