I am leaving Intel and my initial plan was to give exit notice to manager, 2 weeks prior to my start date at new company. But my RSUs at Intel are vesting exactly on my start date. Researching further on leaving Intel site, I realized that stocks will stop vesting typically within 1 week following entry of termination date in Intels system of record. I am afraid of burning bridges by giving 1 week notice. Reaching out to seek suggestions on when to give notice given my situation. #Leaving Intel
I was in a similar situation. My start date, however, is a week before the vest. I’m getting such a big pay raise though that I don’t care that my stocks are not vesting. I was afraid that due to COVD-19 my offer for my new job would be held off or something strange would happen if I asked them to wait for my start date a week. .... depends on how you liked your team. It’s flagged in the system If you don’t give a 2 weeks notice. If you ever want t to work at Intel again, I would put in 2 weeks.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
No one flags anything as its perfectly legal to give even a day notice.
Whether you're with old company or the new company, you will still be working from home.......
Where are you moving to? TC? Geo?

I left intel with a weeks notice. Honestly it depends on your relationship with your manager. But it shouldn't be a problem .
Scary time to change jobs! Imo.
Extend start date with Covid as excuse that is preventing timely handoff of current responsibilities. How much RSU are we talking. about here?
lol dude!! I am exactly in the same situation. I am like i don’t care if i leave on a weekday but may 4 th will be my last Working day since i am getting all stocks on may 3rd. I don’t want to burn bridges, because my manager is good, not because intel has 2 week policy.
May the 4th be with you!
I am in the same situation. Start date is a few days before my stock vests. Decided to let it go though, higher pay and sign on bonus will make up for it.
🤦🏻♂️
I am doing the same as well
Are you on H1, moving during this time - ? Is it okay ?
Can you ask your new Hiring manager to delay your start date by a week?
Due to covid19 situation, I extended once and I am thinking about asking for extension by another week. That would give me 1 week notice timeline so I can notify my current manager after stocks are vested. So my question is 1 week notice acceptable?
Typically, it is a courtesy to give two week notice. On the other hand, I have heard cases where folks are walked out as soon as they give a notice. How are your dynamics with your manager and your team? I had an employee who gave me 6 months notice that he wanted to leave but wasn’t sure where to go next in his career. I let him stay for almost 9 months till he found a job of his liking. Meanwhile, we hired multiple new engineers and he trained them over that time. Let me also say that he was on a sponsored work visa and was one of our top employees.
