Currently @WF in NC but I’m very desperate to get out and welcome any legit helpful suggestions because I’m very much at a loss. I love the role in terms of the experience gained (portfolio management support with meeting client requests/demands, investment manager research and point of contact for dozens of funds, create metrics and performance reports with tableau and SQL with training covered in full by the bank). Really great exposure to not only asset management but data analysis as well. Previous role was doing financial reporting at BoA in CLT as well so honestly I’m fed up with the state. I’m the youngest on my team, I’ve already peaked in the role and would really like to move anywhere else. On one hand banking is my niche so I’ve interviewed with Goldman even so much as interviewing for equity research. I’ve had three rounds of interviews EACH with Netflix, Facebook and google all this year but I could never seem to get the yes from the hiring managers. So I gladly welcome any advice because I’ve been applying like crazy for the last 7 months and the constant no’s are killing me. Almost 3 years of experience, TC is right under 70k
Times are tough right now man. I started getting nasty with my job search about 10 months ago. At first it was blanket applications for stuff I was interested in. Then I turned it into REALLY targeting just the opportunities I wanted. LinkedIn networking, getting in touch with the HM’s and directors, etc. Since the beginning of my search I have put in 137 applications. I’ve gained 15 interviews from that. But that’s just one step closer to that offer that I’m looking for.
Agree with above times are REALLY tough right now. I too have been applying and getting the interviews (the last 6 months) for targeted next level roles but no yes’ yet either. It’s been very slim pickings internal and external. You just need to keep plugging away. I think it’s matter of time soon. I too left BofA to come to WF but have sadly learned that not all banks created equal. WF does not equal BOFA in my opinion. Hope you can make the jump to the tech companies while you are young and can pick up and move across the country. Do it while you can. I am a home owner and pet owner so not as flexible. So many things I would do differently if I was in my early to mid twenties.
May I ask what kind of jobs at Netflix/FB/Google are you applying to from a IB MO background? I’m kind of in a similar boat in Canada working for a pension plan, but feel like I have better options out there.

The fact that you got into the final rounds for those roles coming out of MO is good. I’d say keep grinding and interviewing. I know folks that took 50 rejections before a major win
