Hi, I have an internship offer with Hudson River Trading as a Systems Engineer with the offer being around 72$/hr (extremely high compared to the tech competition) which alone translates to around 150k a year for full time. In addition, I am being covered for my living expenses as well by being provided accommodation that's a walk away from the World Trade Center (I am guessing at least 2k a month's worth, might be more). Just wondering on what the full time rates for such a role could be. If I add a 2k/ month in addition to my current rate, I would go to around 170k a year on its own is fantastic, but given that normally (from past experience) full time new hires are paid more than an intern, I am just wondering what I could expect. Also, does HRT offer Bonuses etc, I know they dont offer RSU's but I am guessing there is something else? Can I expect a 200k + take home? TC: Still a student, making 17.5k as a Teaching Assistant.
Would be extremely competitive
Your apartment is probably $5k. Ask for $225k base, 100pc bonus if you get an offer
5k a month? Damn! NYC is expensive. I stay in the midwest where my rent is a tenth of that :P Thanks for this.
Bro, you’re one block away from WTC. And I’m sure it’s a nice fully furnished apartment with swimming pool and gym. $5k might be an understatement, especially for short term rental.
I’ve seen some new grad offers go up to 600k but I’m sure that was an exceptional outlier. If I had to guess a ballpark it’ll be about 200+, maybe even 300 for TC (including bonuses n whatnot)
Yes, 600k is for those very special ML roles and what not. I too believe 200+ is within my reach. Thank you!
I got a new grad offer for around 450k for a Swe position non ML, so shoot around 400k atleast
Do you have a masters or PHd? And any idea what external mid-senior level engineers are offered to join? Level.fyi doesn't have many data points for HRT when it comes to engineers that joined from elsewhere.
No just Bsc doing MS now but its honestly heavily dependent on how your interview goes but I would assume some where around the same range if not more!
levels.fyi
Unable to find information on systems engineer roles. Also hardly enough data points on HRT as a whole
