I’m done, to go from 2 days WFH to 2.5 days WFH per week, and then we need VP or above approval for what our WFH looks like, it shows our leaders just don’t care. “We got to get with the times” .. Then do what other companies are doing and give us real flexibility to choose!! Im angry that he had the audacity to write an email saying they are proud that they created a new hybrid program that is for all of us but in reality it’s full of shit ! Once I get an offer somewhere else, I’m gone. Even if it’s for the same pay. #Expedia TC: 115
At T-mobile recent all hands CEO mentioned that we lost most number of employees in Q3 I believe that it’s because of forced return to office mandate. People vote for wfh was ignored so folks are walking out
What’s the new WFH policy?!!
50% of time in office starting January
50% with VP approval Used to be 2 days home, 3 days office
Yeah this is more bullshit from a non-technical leadership class that just doesn’t believe you could possibly be accomplishing anything if you’re not in office.
What makes you believe that? Have you tried coming into the office? Can you think of benefits of office time vs wfh time?
Yeah easy. Not spending 2 hours commuting per day
Gotta utilize the shiny new hq, somehow
One more shitty plan of expedia... ttl
can someone post the email for full clarity on the new WFH policy. Not getting the sarcasm 😀
It's long like a Masters' thesis. Too much thumb work to copy paste.
can you please give the gist of it? is it just simple as 2 to 2.5 or much complicated than that
They will take it back when all the devs start leaving, also pandemic is not over, this winter will be bad, I bet they will postpone the return to office date again
I just signed an offer somewhere else. Roughly same pay. Full remote is the new norm and Expedia is about to lose a whole bunch of people.
I hope there are LT members on this thread reading and making note of this
For what do we need approval from VP and above?
If you cannot come to work at least 50 % of the time
In my thinking, the removal of specific arbitrary mandatory days is the big plus with the new plan. I'd recommend that you not make any rash moves, and understand that the flex policy will continue to evolve. Every company is experimenting right now and you might go to a company that promises ft remote now and changes their mind later, which could put you in a worse situation.
I understand that it may evolve but it’s too slow in comparison to others. Look at Amazon! I’m currently interviewing at 3 companies and they all said that it is my choice if I want to WFH or go in the office and that it won’t be forced or looked frowned upon.
Which are the other 2 companies?
