Expedia sold egencia

Egencia has been sold to amex by expedia. What's gonna happen to egencia employees now? And what about expedia benefits they used to get? More layoffs?

Accenture $$$$& May 4, 2021

After acquisition layoff happens and normally people from acquired company are asked to leave. We have number of example from past acquisition just read about them.

Mostly HR/sales will be laid off immediately. Engineering staff will be laid off later

Egencia salaries are way beyond the usual amex banding. Hence, expect a layoff or correction. I have been on the same boat

Based on the information on blind . I think Egencia pays way way way way more then AMex. So I do expect a huge layoff for Egencia folks

Employees were told that there won’t be any layoffs.

I see. Is this for tech or non tech or both? But how are they gonna manage huge pay diff.

There would be some sugar coating that things have developed really fast and with the interest of shareholders , we are going to fire you.

The part I don't get is business travel is huge, Expedia my not be make much now, but its coming back slowly.

Accenture $$$$& May 5, 2021

Business models are evolving with companies realising that without expensive business travel work can be done. Pandemic not going away anytime soon definitely it will not be same how it was before.
