I have currently accepted a SWE internship at Wayfair at the Marketing Technology/Data/ML Platforms. I just got an offer from Expedia for a full stack engineering internship. Which one is better, in terms of resume impact, growth, and long term opportunities? I am currently a sophomore so FT doesn’t matter right now. If you can, please comment why you selected one or their other. Details: Wayfair-10 weeks, Boston, $44/hr + housing. Expedia-10 weeks, Seattle, $45/hr+housing+ relocation
Location for Expedia is better. Summers in Seattle seem more fun then Boston, and there are a lot of other companies in the area that have their own intern cohorts as well. Not sure about name but after I interned for Expedia I was able to get a response from FAANG + some unicorns!
Honestly just go where the position sounds the most fun and location is most fun. Summers in the Seattle are world class. You don’t have to stay with the company you intern at. Hell you don’t even have to stay at a company you fully commit to, can always jump ship after a year or two

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
I personally think backend >>> frontend Wayfair sounds more backend than full stack
How is the team? It seems fairly new and I don’t know if it’s mainly data/ml engineering or also involved modeling work too.
Team has reorg but is old Wayfair has PhDs who do the modeling
