I applied for a role at GoDaddy on in mid Jan, and a recruiter reached out about a week later, so far so good. Since then, the recruiter took over a week to set up a preliminary 10 minute chat, and it has been over 3 weeks of him taking a week to reply to an email (if he does) while trying to set up a call with the hiring manager. The role looks really interesting and like a good fit, but this is getting ridiculous. Any GoDaddy recruiters out there who can help out and get this show on the road?
I’m sure there is some hyperbole there, but depending on how much, how does anyone ever get hired? Seriously, I know when I have likely been axed for a role, after a technical phone call or onsite, and the recruiter ghosts. But prior to even setting up a call with the hiring manager? Wtf?
I have been in that situation twice, but with other companies. The conduct was very rude and as if they didn't care. I am almost sure that you are not their priority for their role.
Recruiter ghosted me after interview. I was pissed that I spent 1 hour talking to their VP and sent thank you note but no response. I spent 1 LinkedIn in mail to ping the VP - politely telling him that I need feedback and this experience will stick with me when I discuss your company and leadership with my friends and colleagues. I got recruiter's reply next day. Not sure if it 1 in mail was worth spending on it but I did it anyway.
It’s very possible. But the fact he initially ghosted me before our first chat because he was sick for over a week (pass me to a different recruiter? 🙄) makes me think this person either doesn’t GAF or is extremely incompetent. Regardless, if the hiring team/manager changed their mind , fine, nbd. It takes literally 30 seconds to send me the “Thank you for applying, but...” pre-packaged rejection email. Then I at least know exactly where I stand.
I have had the same experience , didn't get any response for my follow up.
Recruiting has been a mess for years, not surprised. TL;DR they’re not interested. They should definitely close the loop (sorry they didn’t) but they’ve moved on, so should you.
This is 100% the recruiters fault. He was not technical and could only recite the job description back to me. I am sure he never forwarded my info to the HM even though he said the HM wanted to speak with me and that he was “trying to schedule a time for me and HM to talk”. I gave him a weeks+ of times I was available and even said for a 45 min talk I am flexible if those times don’t work for HM. That is the part that angers me. If I chat with the HM/hiring team and they decide I’m not a good fit and the recruiter let’s me know, no harm no foul, moving on. If they ghost me afterward, fine. Still annoying, but I know I had a fair shot. Either of these scenarios are preferable because I know I wasn’t robbed because of an incompetent recruiter. Whatever the situation, let me know what my application status is. This is the only the second company I’ve applied to which did this, and it’s pathetic IMO that such large orgs employ such useless recruiters/sourcers. It makes the company look bad. I planned on submitting a complaint. Thanks for reminding me.
That's a normal GoDaddy recruiter 😂
