Hi F5ers - wanted to ask please - what is the internal sentiment around the F5 security business unit? I am getting hunted down and the recruiter says shit like: "The Security Unit is the fastest growing business in F5 and is one of the highest priorities for the company's CEO, François Locoh-Donou. F5 is invested in creating a next generation, end-to-end security platform" How much of it is truth vs recruiter lying to get me interested? How is the morale, product and vision for the BU? Would you make an internal switch if offered - if no why not? Thanks in advance
Why F5 built big tower in Seattle then ? If it is in limbo
It was long due. Old heard office was piece of 💩
Yep, it’s a chaos internally right now when it comes to strategy. And we’re all waiting for our new CEO’s annual ritual of lay offs. So for now, I’ll stay away for now.
Agreeded and plus last year they made some business units take PTO right before they laid off people so that they didn’t have to payout un-used PTO...
We all have the annual ritual, in VMW we call it the late Xmas gift, since it is in late January... But what you guys say about the overall state does worry me, thanks for the info. BTW how well are you making the transition to SaaS?
Seems to be going well, not a lot of data or visibility though from the company. That’s just from internal conversations. This is definitely a crucial next 12 months for us though for sure
Sad to hear about F5!
Thanks everyone, based on the feedback I decised to pass
I’d say that’s mostly true but I also wouldn’t suggest coming to F5 right now. The whole company is really in limbo and has an uncertain future. If there is a niche market place for our new services security absolutely is it and where our growth potential is. I would definitely switch if offered but I’d prefer a different company altogether. Unless you have no other option I wouldn’t really consider it honestly.
Very true. Stay away as much as you can
