Seemingly everyone wants to work for FAANG, at least those on Blind, some even think if they don't get into FAANG their carrier is over. Personally I fell in love with #payments after joining Adyen. I think once you get into #fintech, you will want to stick to it. What do you think are the FAANG of fintech? Here's my acronym: PASS P - Paypal A - Adyen S - Square S - Stripe Although PASS doesn't sound as cool as FAANG
Big LOL go for startup, this status symbol wont take you anywhere
lol solid wit! Can I DM you?
What's ayden??
Was that sarcasm? One stop payment solution if you were seriously asking. And it's Adyen not Ayden. They're Dutch and a very good company, I'd rate them above stripe. Also, they are valued at least 5x Dropbox. :)
If you search the Dropbox source code repository, you will probably find code that integrates to the Adyen Payment API 😉
Does anyone have an opinion on Sofi and where they would rank among these PASS firms?
Entirely different league
I think that competition is more pronounced on the commercial side but I'm not exposed to that. I would say on a daily basis we are more focused on executing our long term mission than analyzing what Stripe is doing and how they do it.
My impression is that Adyen is much more focused on serving large enterprises than Stripe
@ohyahr how about Square? Are you guys keeping an eye on Stripe and Adyen? I would think you are more in competition with Stripe than Adyen given the different customer base we serve.
Yeah we consider Shopify and PayPal competitors, but even those were don't really talk about much. Leadership repeatedly reiterates that we're not competing with stripe.
How about ASS P?
I could get behind ASS.
Go work for a company you like the team and culture. People put too much value in who they work for. You are not your job.
I think it’s because of the $$$$ in stocks fattening up the TC
Stop trying to make tiers happen!
LOL
Hey fellow PASS employee 😄
Lol sounds like people will pass us. I mean I love fintech and I want to stay here. I don’t think we need to compare ourselves to FAANG because originally it’s a term for high growth stocks coined by Jim Cramer and somehow the engineers working in these companies started considering themselves as god. Long story short, you are not at your pinnacle if you are in FAANG or PASS for that matter and not sloppy if you’re not in one of those companies. I’d rather join a growing company and contribute to its success and be in the next big thing than be 1 of millions in this rat race.
