Hi, I am currently interviewing for both DS, Product Analytics and Product Experience Analyst positions at Facebook. I am having a hard time understanding the difference between both these roles. One of the recruiters explained it to be but it was not entirely clear. Though both the roles sound really interesting, i am trying to understand the difference between them. Anyone from FB who can help me understand the difference? Appreciate the help! Thanks :) #facebook #facebookculture #facebookdata #facebookdatascientist
Are you doing onsites for both?
I dint get to that point yet. I have my initial video screenings scheduled for both. Was just curious to understand the difference of both.
Did you get an offer? What’s the difference between the two roles?
They are similar roles. Some tasks can be done by both, but usually: - Data Scientists define product team goals, look at revenue related metrics, do forecasts. They also influence the product strategy of the team - Product Experience Analysts look at product analytics metrics specifically. How users interact with the product, what are the missed opportunities. They communicate pain points to the product team and influence the team in improving the product. They both use SQL heavily and Python or R for more advanced analysis (usually DS do more advanced analysis)
Hey did they tell you comp differences?
Not really..they were like it depends on how the interview goes!
