4.5+ years experience. Did well in both interviews. Have other competing offers but rejected. Now just these two. FB gives me IC5. Google can only give me L4 but wants to give me a competitive offer. Team matching for FB is great. Core business. Team is big. Google is internal tools but I like the manager and the manager is interested in me since day 1. Google team is new. I heard team change is easy for both companies in the future. Google used to be my first choice because it seems to have good work and life balance but now I’m not sure now since FB gives me a higher level and the project seems more interesting. A few questions: Does FB IC5 = google L4? Does FB have work and life balance? How’s working on internal tools different from customer facing products? I’m from product design. Thanks in advance!
Fb ic5 > google e4 imo. Switch later to Google at L5 if you wish to.
Go to Facebook. Why take a down-level?
Hi to FB.
FB does NOT have work life balance
Nice generalizing Uber bro
Yea thats a bit BS as it’s team dependent. Just choose wisely in bootcamp
FB any day due to the level and also you’ll be doing internal tools at Google. I’d say stick to FB, learn good stuff and then switch if you don’t have fun.
Also, FB stock is cheaper thus a risk of market uncertainties will hurt lesser than a google stock taking a dive.
Thanks! :)
Been at both companies, it's not easy to get promoted in either - so better go with higher level in FB. If you don't like it, u can interview and come to Google in couple years as L5
Congrats btw to op on the offers with just 4.5yoe.
Thank you! Yes, that’s why I want to be more careful with the decision since both are good options.
